Who takes part in Rally Bohemia?
Total of 53 crews with modern racing cars and over 40 crews with historical racing cars have filled out the entry form for the start of the 40th Rally Bohemia.
The starting list of the 40th Rally Bohemia offers complete local top and 13 cars in total from top class 2, where cars S2000 and R5 belong. The starting ramp of the competition listed in FIA European Rally Cup (coefficient 10) and Mediasport International Rally Championship of the Czech Republic will cross over crew with starting number 1, Jan Kopecký – Pavel Dresler, who are members of the Škoda Motorsport team. They lead the table of running European Cup in ERC classification. 40th Rally Bohemia will be also the Czech premiere of new car Ford Fiesta R5 category, which is supposed to replace S2000 cars in the future. This car will be driven by Jan Sýkora – Martina Škardová.
Two drivers in total having the highest priority FIA, which are Jan Kopecký and Jan Černý, and seven drivers with ASN priority will step on the start of 40th Rally Bohemia. The starting field of modern cars is composed of seven nationalities among 53 crews and five nationalities from Rally Bohemia Legend.
From the group of foreigners let’s mention for instance Danish duo Simon Hansen Vallentin and Thomas Henriksen. This very fast crew starts in Peugeot 206 S1600 and their plan is to gain experience on Rally Bohemia as well as the Slovakian rallysport’s hope Martin Koči. He has participated several times in World Championships and also competitions in the Czech Republic. Together with the co-driver Lukáš Kostka driving in Škoda Fabia S2000 they could act as the dark horse of this competition.
The role of favourite is of course taken by the crew from Škoda Motorsport team, but the fight for victory will be on also for Václav Pech Jr. in Mini John Cooper Works S2000, who leads running MMČR, and Roman Kresta, who by attending to 40th Rally Bohemia wants to kiss good-bye to this competition. During 40th Rally Bohemia the points will be given out in all categories and dramatic fights will surely be seen among drivers of lower volume classes as well. Even with smaller car power they certainly have great rally hearts.
