There are only a few days left till the Rally Bohemia application deadline
There are only a few days left before the application deadline for all parts of 46th Rally Bohemia. Lists of entered crews already contain interesting crews, including WRC 2 World Champion Jan Kopecký. It is still possible to apply for the ECO energy Rally Bohemia, which is a regularity competition for the motoring public.
On Monday 24th June, The Czech Rally Championship had almost fifty registered crews. The list of entries is dominated by the world champion WRC 2, Jan Kopecký, from the ŠKODA Motorsport factory team in Mladá Boleslav. Fans will surely be eagerly awaiting the addition of another factory team driver to Kopecky. With Jan Kopecký Czech top pilots have already registered, represented mainly by Václav Pech, Filip Mareš, Jan Černý, Jan Dohnal, Miroslav Jakeš and Vojtěch Štajf. A kind refreshment will be the start of Norwegian Stian Brøderud on the Škoda Fabia R5 and certainly also agile Jiří Kalista with Mitsubishi. Štěpán Vojtěch, who started with modern Škoda Fabia R5 last year, will use his Peugeot 206 WRC this year, which is an older vehicle, but still very atractive among spectators.
The list of entries of the Czech Historic Rally Championship already contains as many as 24 crews. The biggest favorite of this year’s championship is Vlastimil Neumann on Ford Escort RS Cosworth, accelerating Libor Kotrmon on the same vehicle, as well as last year’s Rally Bohemia Historic winner Jindřich Štolfa, who is registered with Skoda 130 L this time.
Rally participants in the Rally Championship and the Czech Rally Championship in historic car rallies will pass 551 km of track, of which more than 160 km are “sharp” measured sections divided into 20 special stages. This year’s Rally Bohemia uses mostly brand new special stages. Rally applications for Czech Rally Championship, Czech Rally Rally Championship of historical cars close on Sunday 30th June at 20:00, until this timem another series of applications can be expected.
The ECO energy Rally Bohemia currently has 23 registered crews and these are divided into participants of FIA Electric and New Energy Championhip (FIA ENEC) and the participants of the Organizer’s cup called Czech Trophy – Regularity rally in ECO Rally. In the framework of FIA ENEC, the current World Championships of ECO-rally in regularity and the winners of last year’s ECO Energy Rally Bohemia Didier Malga / Anne Bonnel from France (Tesla Model 3) are already registered. Italians Walter Kofler / Franco Gaioni who ended up on silver position in FIA ENEC as well as Rally Bohemia will surely want to get even with the this year, as they will be supoorted by teammates Guido Guerrini / Emanuele Calchetti (both are Audi e-tron crews). However, the ongoing results of this year’s season are favored by the continuously leading French crew Arthur Prusak / Thierry Benchetrit (also Audi e-tron), who also won the recent Czech New Energies Rally in Český Krumlov. Last year’s winner of the Czech Trophy at the Rally Bohemia Michal Žďárský is also registered, this time with Kristýna Žďárská on the co-driver seat (SEAT Leon TGI).
The ECO energy Rally Bohemia crews can look forward to a 620 km track, of which special regularity tests are more than 300 km divided into 23 sections (RS). They are partly led by the closed roads of the special stages of the classic speed rally. Entries closing for ECO Energy Rally Bohemia (for FIA ENEC and Organizer Cup – Czech Trophy) is on Friday 28th June at 6 pm.
An integral part of the Rally Bohemia is the Rally Legend exhibition, where the crews are not measured times, but it offers a nice display of historical racing cars. Clearly the biggest legend among the 19 registered “legends” so far, is the unique Škoda 200 RS driven by Stanislav Kafka – a car that is also closely connected with the beginning of the Rally Bohemia history, respectively, former Rally Škoda. Worth of mentioning is also the Fiat 124 Abarth Rally driven by Šipka’s family crew. Rally Legend has 412 km of track on the program, of which 123 km are unmeasured special stages on 16 sections. The Rally Legend application deadline is on Sunday 30th June at 8 pm.
The Rally Bohemia program will start with the Autograph Session of the Leading Crews at the Bondy centrum Mladá Boleslav on Thursday 11th. July at 7 pm. Friday 12th July, the classic speed rally will start with shakedown and ECO energy Rally Bohemia with its first competition stage after morning start from dr. Edvard Beneš’s square in Liberec. Both parts of the rally will meet on Friday at the spectators SS SCALA Gladitor Sosnová with double passes through the attractive parallel special stage at Autodrom Sosnová near Česká Lípa. After the demanding Saturday and Sunday stages, we will welcome the successful crews of all parts of the Rally Bohemia on the finish ramp at the Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square) in Mladá Boleslav. A series of ceremonial finishes and awards to the winning crews will start on Sunday 14th. July. before 2 pm.
