Crew guide

If you are going to participate in the ECO energy Rally Bohemia and do not know what is expecting you? We have a short simple guide for you to get you know the most important things that await you.

This information below serves only to better understand the course of the competition and is certainly not a substitute for the International Sporting Regulations and Technical Regulations or the Standard Rally Regulations or the Particular Regulations. All these regulations can be found in the documents section.

Regularity rally

The principle of regularity rally is the exact adherence to the speed average on the regularity stage (RS). Therefore, it is not a question of who passes the measured section faster. The average speed is given by the organizer and may change several times during one RS.

RS goes both on open roads with the rules for normal public traffic, as well as on closed routes of special stages of Rally Bohemia, where the traffic rules do not apply.

On all RS, there are secret measuring points (for each RS different number), where time measurement takes place. These points are not located 500 and less meters from the start of the RS, in the municipalities marked with a traffic sign and up to 500 m behind them. At these points, the crews are measured for time and compared to the time at which the crew was to pass through the average speed in the section. Penalty points are assigned for these deviations. Each deviated tenth of a second from the ideal time in each timed spot means 1 penalty point penalty. The RS target does not have to be a measured point.

The crew wins the least penalty points during the race for all RS.

Course of the competition

Timetable and Time Control

Each crew must strictly respect the competition schedule. Time checks (TC) are used to check the time of arrival in the TC in the time card, where the crew must be in the next TC. For each TC, the crew may enter the area within one minute preceding its ideal time. Late arrivals to TC are penalized and the maximum TC delay is 30 minutes.

Parc Fermé

Crews that are entered into the FIA Championship must observe the rules of a closed Parc Fermé (PF) during the entire competition. This space is defined by the organizer and the crew must hand in the car according to the itinerary at the end of each section. After arriving at PF, the crew must leave the vehicle and this area within 15 minutes and the crew is allowed to enter the car 15 minutes before leaving TC. No work and repairs on the car are allowed in the PF area, and the car is being recharged in the PF.

Charging electric cars

Charging of electromobiles is allowed only in places designated by the organizer.

Regularity stage

The Regularity stage (RS) always starts with a Start, which is unattended and is properly marked with a start line and a visible panel with a flag in the red box. Crews start at their discretion, always in the whole (!) minute according to the official time of the competition.

After the start, the crew tries to keep the speed average, which is different for each RS and changes during RS. Individual velocity averages are described in the Time Card. To measure average speed, we recommend using the Rabbit Rally or Rally Tripmeter, which is available for Android and iOS devices, or to select any calculation system.

Calibration section

Each crew can calibrate their tripmasters according to the tripmaster used by the organizer. This section is described in the competition itinerary, which each crew will receive during administrative checks and will be able to calibrate immediately after these checks. More information about the calibration section can be found here.
