Rally Bohemia is in the 1st Leg Finish: Jan Kopecký has taken the Lead
All parts of Rally Bohemia 2018 have reached the finish of the 1st leg. Czech Rally Championship is lead by the crew Jan Kopecký – Pavel Dresler in Škoda Fabia R5, Czech Historic Sporting Rally Championship by Jan Frei – Petr Šlegl in Škoda 130 LR and ECO Energy Rally Bohemia by Javier Molto – Loren Serrano in BMW i3.
The first leg of Rally Bohemia took place under sunny and stable weather. No tire defects affected the fights. The complete top of the main starting field of the Czech Rally Championship has reached the finish. There are only slight distances between the crews. From the start the lead has been held by the crew of ŠKODA Motorsport factory team Jan Kopecký – Pavel Dresler in Škoda Fabia R5, which is already attacking the sixth victory in Rally Bohemia in a row. The second place has been stably held by Václav Pech – Petr Uhel in Ford Fiesta R5 when they are falling behind Kopecký only 19 seconds. A big battle is being done for a bronze position when the total distance between the third Jan Černý ( Ford Fiesta R5), the fourth Vojtěch Štajf and the fifth Filip Mareš (both Škoda Fabia R5) is less than four seconds. The Norwegian Ole Christan Veiby, Štěpán Vojtěch from Liberec in Škodas Fabia R5 or Roman Odložilík in Ford Fiesta R5 being on the sixth to eighth places are not losing much either. So the situation at the top is still open before the Sunday leg, and the special stages in the area of Mladá Boleslav where the crews will still face 80 “sharp” kilometres will decide.
The classification of 2WD cars with one axle driven is led by one of this season discovery Jan Talaš with Peugeot 208 R2, however, only six seconds behind him is another young talent Matěj Kamenec in the same car. Class 3 of production cars has lost several favourites mainly due to technical defects. The lead by seven seconds is held by Lukáš Matěna before Petr Hrobský, both in Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX.
After the so far leading Vlastimil Neumann´s withdrawing (in Ford Escort RS Cosworth), Rally Bohemia Historic is excellently led by the crew Jan Frei – Petr Šlegl in Škoda 130 LR, when Jindřich Štolfa – Miroslav Krčmář in Rover Metro GTI are losing one minute and a quarter for them. The third Stanislav Budil – Petr Vejvoda in BMW 2002 are losing another half minute. Already now it is clear that Břetislav Enge and Lucie Engová from Liberec betrayed by the gear of their Škoda 130 LR right on their home special stage Ještěd will not defend successfully their double victory from the past two years.
ECO Energy Rally Bohemia, the event of the World Cup FIA E-Rally Regularity Cup is led by the Spanish crew Javier Molto – Loren Serrano in BMW i3 (392 points), the second is the acting world champion Italian Walter Fuzzy Kofler with his co-driver Franci Gaioni in Tesla Model S 90D (511 points) and the third is the French crew Dideir Malga – Anne Bonnel in Renault Zoe (848 points).
The classification of the national competition Czech Trophy in ECO Rally is led by the crew Michal Ždárský – Milan Nedorost in SEAT Ibiza (623 points ), the second are Lukáš Hataš – Tereza Němcová in car Tesla Model X 90 D (990 points) and the third place is held by Jana Neubauerová – Jiří Paroubek in Volkswagen e-Golf (1307 points).
