Rally Bohemia Historic after the first Section

The crews of Rally Bohemia Historic have completed the first section of special stages. The leading position has been taken by the fancied Italian crew “Pedro“ – Baldaccini in Lancia Rally 037, however, only by six seconds ahead of the Sweden pair Mats Myrsell – Esko Junttila in Porsche 911 RSR.

The third place is held by the Italians Carlo Marenzana – Luca Beltrame with another Porsche 911. There is a close fight of two cars Škoda 130 LR on the fourth place when Břetislav Enge – Lucie Engová and Jan Krejča – Pavel Šárka have only trivial two tenths of a second between them. In the first regrouping we asked the leading crews about their feelings on the first round of the special stages Sychrov, Šumburk, Bzí and urban SS Bondy.

“Pedro”: “We had some problems with the first special stage, I returned into Lancia Rally 037 after one year, so it was too difficult for me. We made a spin twice, but I feel the next stages were already all right. But Lancia Rally 037 is a big car – an incredible car!”

Mats Myrsell: “Those were beautiful stages, we won the first one, but Pedro is too fast; I left behind by 10 seconds at the next stage. It is apparent Pedro has a newer car while we have a historic one, even though strong car.”

Luca Beltrame, Carlo Marenzana’s co-driver: “All today’s special stages were beautiful, especially Šumburk was fantastic. The urban SS was a big show for the spectators, for sponsors. We had a bit of a problem with front dampers, but now after the service zone, we are going to have a re-start.”

Six crews had to withdraw due to technical defects, among others Karlík – Fabián in Lada VFTS. Now the second passes of special stages Sychrov, Šumburk, Bzí are ahead of the crews of Rally Bohemia Historic, and the evening service in Mladá Boleslav.
