Fight of Škoda 130 LR Cars decorated 1st Leg of Czech Historic Rally Championship

Rally Bohemia Historic also involves Czech Historic Rally Championship. Its head have been dominated by two Škoda 130 LR cars in the hands of crews Jan Krejča – Pavel Šárka and Břetislav Enge – Lucie Engová, which were putting up a close fight for the lead in the Czech Historic Rally Championship during the whole Saturday leg.

The comments of the fastest crews of the Czech Historic Rally Championship at the evening service centre at the end of the 1st leg:

Pavel Šárka, co-driver of Jan Krejči: “During the second passes through the special stages, we had a feeling of faster speed than for the first time, and we were happy we had managed to get ahead of Enge. Now we are checking the wheel hub, there is a bigger clearance there, but it will be all right.”

Břetislav Enge: “Although Krejča has returned it to us now, we are feeling good. The track was rather messy after the contemporary four wheel drive cars, but we have managed them all right and avoided crises.”

Within the classification of FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship the third place is safely held by Petr Michálek – Roman Maryška in Suzuki Swift. With a three-minute distance from the third place, however, with a mere second distance between each other the crews on the fourth to seventh places follow, namely in order: Jan Petřík – Marek Pavlas (Škoda Favorit), Petr Hejhal – Martin Hejhal (Škoda 110), Jan Frei – Karel Zapletal (Škoda 130 LR) and Jindřich Štolfa – Miroslav Krčmář (Škoda 130 L).

The classification of Czech Historic Rally Championship is dominated by the Škoda cars not only with respect to the results but also in terms of their number – from 18 competition cars that completed the first leg within the Czech Historic Rally Championship full 15 are of ŠKODA brand.

Tomorrow 42nd Rally Bohemia Historic is going on with its second leg where the crews will be tested in special stages in the region of Mladá Boleslav. The first crews of the Czech Rally Championship will be welcomed in the finish in the Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square) in Mladá Boleslav on Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
